YOU GUYS AREN'T LISTENING. The point of this is not to legalize marijuana for people who like to smoke marijuana. It's medical. For medical use.
And to say it doesn't affect your judgment, driving skills, and everything else is just plain ignorant.

Even though the list of people allowed to legally use and GROW marijuana (Registered patients with conditions including cancer, glaucoma, HIV, AIDS, hepatitis C, MS and others) might seem quite steep considering the total amount of people in the state of Michigan with these conditions, if you read more into it you will realize that there are other stipulations to the proposal. -LIMITED AMOUNTS could be grown by REGISTERED INDIVIDUALS for patients in an ENCLOSED, LOCKED FACILITY. -An identification card system would be established for qualified patients permitted to use and grow marijuana. -But the proposal is to "Permit registered and unregistered patients and primary caregivers to assert medical reasons for using marijuana as a defense to any prosecution involving marijuana." SO, it is not legalizing use of marijuana for everyone. But gives "unregistered patients" an easy defense.

I'm pretty sure that no where in any of our statements did we imply that Proposal 1 was legalizing universal marijuana usage in Michigan. We may have gotten a bit of topic though, thank you for the lesson, you obviously seem to have studied the subject and therefore, know far more on the topic than the rest of us.
