The only thing you need to know is that if you hold "xg8pk" at the same time the mac WILL explode.

Apple Care doesn't cover a lot of stuff. Erica just had a run of bad luck with a part going bad and Apple saying that she spilled something on it, and so it isn't covered. She didn't spill anything on it, but they say otherwise.
Also, they're the greatest computer ever and all others cannot hold a candle.

That's weird that she's having problems. I'd try taking it to another Apple store. I've heard nothing but good things about Apple Care. I called them about my screen (I have a few dead pixels, which happens from time to time) and the guy told me to make an appointment and they'd replace my whole screen for free.
I love my Mac. I'll never buy a PC again.

Yea i have to agree, apple care is pretty good at least thus far. My gf was having trackpad problems and made an appt and they took her computer and fixed it same day. I guess people are people, and some people on the wrong day are whatever.
Buying a mac is lots of things, I think there is lots of social stuff rolled into it, now that I own one and am able to observe. I have been a user for about 6 years now, since my ibook g4. They are good computers, they are solid machines. They are getting better at games but still not the best. Great news is that starcraft 2 is out for mac and pc. I also have a netbook I have been working with linux ubuntu on, which I have been very surprised at how easy it has gone. I think if the day ever comes when im not doing recording, graphic design, and stuff like that, I will be using a linux based netbook or something.
