I have been wanting to start reading some more books recently, but do not have any suggestions for what to read, so I made this thread.
Any suggestion would be appreciated, I prefer nonfiction myself, but anything will do.

"Humanimal" by Bhanu Kapil is absolutely amazing. It's a bit confusing, but if you're looking for a good, challenging read, I'd try it out.

"Is Belief In God Good, Bad, or Irrelevent" by Preston Jones and Greg Graffin.
It's a pretty thought provoking dialogue between a Christian professor and (one of my personal heroes) the lead vocalist for Bad Religion (who also has his Ph.D in zoology or evolutionary biology. . . I can't remember for sure).
I just finished that a couple of weeks ago, and I'll probably read it again. Either way, good read.
Also, some just all around good reads, depending on your taste/mood/season:
The Easter Parade by Richard Yates Eleanor Rigby by Douglas Coupland Siddharta by Herman Hesse The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway (I know, everyone knows it but. . . fuck. Hemingway is just SO good) Pulp by Charles Bukowski
However, those are all fiction. Some good Non Fiction, as requested:
The book I mentioned first. Get in the Van by Henry Rollins (one of my favorite books beyond a shadow of a doubt) A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking (though, be warned, without at least a bit of education concerning astronomy and possibly some physics. . . I'd imagine it might be a bit intense) A Man Without A Country by Kurt Vonnegut
There's just a few. Hope it helps!

My Sociology teacher strongly suggested The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I haven't read it yet, but I plan to.

Check out some of Dan Brown's books if you haven't already.
They are fact based fiction, haha. Angels and Demons, The Da Vinci Code, etc.
