I saw a screening of this at MSU on the 22nd, it was much much better than Paranormal Activity.
It's shot like The Tracey Fragments, a Canadian film staring Ellen Page. Multiple frames on the screen, overlapping audio.
The reason for this, the film offers very detailed dramatizations, with the actors speaking lines directly from recorded tapes and recorded video is often pictured in a frame next to the "actors" frame.
Very haunting, a thinker rather than a jumper. Starts off slow, but totally worth the wait.
It's due out in theaters on the 6th. I went into the movie completely blind... and it was worth it.
