My friend Andrew is the heart of Koji on the Roof, a DIY touring acoustic musician from Harrisburg, PA. He's started a new collective of artists and musicians from that area called the Colormake Crew. There's not a whole lot of info online, but does this make anyone sad at how shallow some of our scene kids are? Koji - www.myspace.com/kojisaysaloha (listen to "Stay". Brilliance.) Colormake Crew - www.myspace.com/colormakeIt's an ingenious idea, to mix art and music like this. Scott, it's like your label idea. I'll have to let you borrow the disc he just gave me. It's amazing.

I don't understand the scene kid comment...
This sounds like a pretty darn cool idea, and the music is not bad at all.

What he means is that while our scene is kind of like a competition, koji and his crew are all banding together with kids from all around their scene to help each other out instead of one up each other.

Yes, kinda. I just wish there was more music that was artistically thought out. Kids around see a kid play double bass, and it's automatically awesome, even if it's awful.
You gotta start somewhere, but take a few minutes to put some effort into diversifying your sound and being creative.
I don't know, I'm just complaining. I don't think kids around here would "get" Koji, which is sad.

Ah, I see your point now. And I do agree, I think a lot of kids wouldn't be able to appreciate it.
