Like Corey said, Family Guy is awesome in it's relentless critique of popular culture. The only thing really wrong with it, in terms of popular culture, is it's news blip style humor. It may be ruining the viewers attention span, but that's about all.

Family Guy has very weak writing and the jokes never come out of the story.
Example: Do you remember that time I ______________ joke based on pop culture, most likely a washed up celebrity then back to story.
You guys want awesome pop culture jokes check out Mystery Science Theater. Amazing show.

I thought about it today. The fact that Family Guy was canned originally because no one really like it, and now is one of the biggest shows around today shows the generation gap that slowly happened. It all makes sense now.

MST3K is amazing. I won't deny that for a second.

It all makes sense now. The original Family Guy had a lot worse production compared to the newer ones, it had some pretty bad animation and voice acting, and that's why I believe it was canceled the first time, but I can see either way really.

I like Family Guy because it's 'my' personal humor. I don't think any comedy should be filled with stuff to make me smarter or a better person or to benefit me in any way. I like it because it's something to take my mind off of everyday life. Family Guy is an acquired taste, for damn sure. So to all of you nay-sayers out there, go suck one, and post some TV show you like on this forum, rather than bashing on my shit.
Good Day.

Nice Job, CJ. A Little Late Though. Am I Right?

I feel like Family Guy can be viewed a few ways, one being the way that Zach was talking about, an escape of sorts. Yet, lets not forget though, that there are a ton of social references in this show, a lot of which someone would not get unless they are at least partially culturally aware.

More Like I Did What I Came For. I Started A Heavy Thread. And Now I Will End It. Nice Job, CJ. A Little Late Though. Am I Right? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...this is not my Batman cup. I'm not sure if you're right; what was I late for? I was only teasin. I'm a fan of the show. Unrelated post script: why are all your words capitalized? I feel like Family Guy can be viewed a few ways, one being the way that Zach was talking about, an escape of sorts. Yet, lets not forget though, that there are a ton of social references in this show, a lot of which someone would not get unless they are at least partially culturally aware. It's completely steeped in 80s references. Half the time, I see the FG episode, and it's kind of funny, then find out what they were referencing later on, and it's hilarious. It's a joke that keeps on giving.
