I have to disagree. Threet struggles to make routine passes out of the I, or Trips.
I guess there was a reason why he wasn't recruited by either UM or MSU out of HS.
I think he got an offer from CMU, but he wouldnt even start there(in another spread offense). Also recruited by Illinois(spread), Indiana(spread), NC State(spread). There was something about this kid that made people think he could be a D1 QB, but we're not seeing it now.
This year and possibly the next will be time for the country to get their jabs in on UM.
It can only get better.
Right?

I was luckily enough to be at the game yesterday to see first hand how to lose to Toledo haha. There were way too many dropped passes, bad throws that became interceptions and although McGuffie is great you can't hand off to him all the friggen time. The defense played pretty well, but they needed to cover the receivers better, Toledos QB was on fire yesterday, making smart passes and getting them off quickly.
In other news Michigan's punter Zoltan Mesko is probably the best player on the team, he had some perfect punts keeping Toledo backed into their end zone.
Hopefully Michigan will practice the basics and be ready to take Penn State next week then be at least a challenge for MSU the week after.
GO BLUE. haha

Its been hard going to all the home games this year i agree with the comment about zoltan being the best player on the team, he seems to be getting more playing time than most players. Last time we had a season this bad it was in the 60's and around this time during that bad season they fired their coach and hired bo schembeckler.......

Regarding Threet, he's going to struggle, even when you put him in an I formation a few times a game. If they were playing a pro-style offense like Michigan used to do, he has all the tools to make that happen. He's a little dancy in the pocket, but so were both Navarre and Henne, and both of them eventually set all kinds of records.
I'm not endorsing that he'd be a GREAT, or even GOOD, quarterback in that system. He just wouldn't look completely and totally overmatched like he does now.
Regarding their D, Ron, Toledo's offense is about quick passing, to make up for a total lack of running game. In fact, the two offenses are pretty similar, except that Michigan just doesn't get first downs when they need them. Toledo has timing, because they've been in this offense for years.
This year's going to be tough. No bowl this year, that's almost for sure.

Well we started out good, but ended how i expected. I almost believed that we stood a chance against penn state. If Threet wouldnt have gotten hurt we may have been able to pull it off.

Threet proved me wrong last weekend. It looked like a totally different UM team for the first 2 1/2 quarters. Threet looked pretty good and Minor was an animal If he stays healthy, they have a shot. If he's hurt and anyone else (sheridan or feagin) steps on the field, ITS OVER!

another disappointing loss. The offense looked strong-ish though. I was more engrossed in watching the CMU-Indiana game instead. CMU beat a Big Ten team for the first time since beating #20 Michigan State in 1991. Tis a great day to be a Chippewa.
