I guess I'll just never understand, and I'm quite sure that I wouldn't want to if I could.

I know fucking hate Muse. Really? You ask somebody to retract a statement saying you like their music because they have a different political stance. Thats so goddamn ignorant. Fuck them. And Fuck you... they were once a good band but not anymore!

Yeah, I think that was pretty shitty of Muse. Beck's a tool, but he's entitled to say what he wants.

So yeah, it wasn't nice for Muse to do that, but it's Glen Beck! My god, the man lies to America on a nightly basis. Maybe he's not as bad as Rush, but shit, I wouldn't want that piece of shit supporting my music. You've got to have some conviction; you've got to draw the line somewhere. Muse is trying not to sell out and abandon their morals for money from advertising that they do not support. If you hate them or are mad at them for that, you've got your priorities all mixed up.

I'm with David on this one. How can you say that it's ignorant to not want to get lumped in with the views and beliefs of someone? I think it's a noble deed in today's times when everyone is so god-damned complacent. What if it was the member of the KKK or something ridiculous like that who said that about Muse? I know that's a bit more extreme, but at the base it's just a difference in social-political stances. It's exactly what David said: You've got to have some conviction.

Ben Weinman from the Dillinger Escape Plan once said that you cannot choose your fans. You just do your job and people may pick up on it along the way.

I knew a TURBO Republican that loved Fugazi. These things happen.

Hmm. Tough issue. I think I like what Muse did. There's a difference between choosing your fans and choosing how you want to be publicly represented. Muse obviously cant tell Beck to not like their music, but I think it was good of them to tell him they don't want his endorsement publicly. If I there them, I wouldn't want my fans to think we in turn supported him or that if you like us you should watch Glen Beck. Well played, Muse.
