Oh, you know, another La Dispute weekend... « Thread Started on Nov 1, 2009, 1:05am »
10/30
Apathetic Critic - Loved hearing the new stuff live. It's not quite as loud and nasty as the old stuff, and while Wes did well as a fill-in, I can't wait to see the guys really put it together on 11/13!
Tiger Tiger - Love the new stuff, still hate A World Filled With Honey, but man, kids love to sing that shit. The new CD is going to rule.
Koji - What can I say? I've seen this show nine times now in the past nine days, and I absolutely love it every time. He was particularly funny on this night, and him playing "All My Life" was awesome.
La Dispute - Not their night. Sound was off, Vass was annoyed with getting pushed around, and the PAC wasn't the right fit for them.
10/31 Take The City - BORING Coldplay-sounding stuff. Not at all exciting.
Koji - See above. Bummed that he'll be leaving tomorrow.
Finding Clyde - Wore Beatles costumes, covered the Beatles with the first song of their set. Otherwise, uninspiried OAR is what they reminded me of.
La Dispute - Definitely redeemed themselves with a HUGE performance on the big stage and all.
Ports of Aidia - One of my favorites, the guitar work and drumming are both so good, and the costumes were epic!

Pretty much agree with all this. La Dispute in Howell was fun, but they destroyed in Frankenmuth. They're so good when they actually have room to play. The Frankenmuth crowd is very different than what we have in Howell. This was the first time I got to really watch Koji play. He's a great dude, I love what he is about.
